I struggle with feeling worthless, unwanted and I have trouble understanding and trusting how I feel. As a result, I am indecisive and tend to look to others to solve problems and decide for me. I suffer from Borderline Personality Disorder...the 'symptoms' are exactly what you described in this question...plus more.

P.s. That's cool you are into renewable energy reseach...I am an environmentalist (academically, in my job and in my life).

Because for me personally, I question whether I'm making the right decision. Yes, chances come and go, and who's to say what I take now is the best? Do I really even WANT this? Yes, chances come and go quickly, and who's to say it won't come along again?

Eric, are you asking about the external or internal?
Wanting a job or car is way different than desiring a relationship or quality.
For inner things desire is magnetic.
