Ok, i have a AMD processor and a ASUS motherboard, I built the computer myself, so i know alot about compuers, but i am more of a software guy then hardware.

My question is that my processis is capable of being a 64 bit processor, but at the moment it displayes as 32 bit in windows. How would i get it to work at 64 bit, my motherboard supports it.

I know that I would have to reinstall a windows OS that supports a 64 bit processor.

thanks for the info, i know theres not much support for 64 bit at the moment, i just needed to know for the future when there will be support for it and when it may become the standered. Thanks for letting me know about that.,

also any idea why my compuer will not boot linux live cds? i have the boot order set right, and it displays the linux option screen but after i choose a boot option i just get a black screen. It happens with all LIve CDs (including suse)

You will need either XP64 or Vista64, the only real adavantage is the ability to address more than 4GB of memory.
Beware of the limitation of software, theres not many software thats 64bit, and hardware drivers for 64bits is also limited, unless you have a need for 64bit, you are better of running 32bit Windows.
