they are great....i have never used anything else and never would.....who would want all that nasty blood sitting around in some pad all day. YUCK!!! they can give you TTS or something like that, so dont keep them in longer than 8 or 9 hours but other than that i love them. just pick a good kind and none of that cheap biodegradable crap.

I know how this one feels... Try a "light" tampon to start with, as they're a bit smaller. My personal favorite is Platex Sport, because they just seem a lot more comfortable to me. Remember, though, that tampons don't always feel better for everyone. It can sometimes be painful to insert. Usually the instructions in the box are a bit better about explaining how to put them in. If you're still confused, try asking a trusted woman in your life, i.e., Mom, aunt, older sister.

they are not necessarily good for you like veggies are, nor are they actually bad for you if you follow the directions for their use. the only problem is toxic shock syndrome which is rare and nearly unheard of lately. i use them b/c they are more convenient, you can wear them anywhere, including swimming, and they're cleaner. if you're uncomfortable with the idea of tampons, don't use them. it's a personal choice.

You can potentially get Toxic Shock Syndrome if they are left in for more than, I think, 8 hours. If you can replace them morning, afternoon, and night, you should have no problems.

They only make you sick (which is rare) when you leave it in for too long. They are sooo much better than pads, because they dont leak and don't smell. Just as long as you dont leave it in too long, you'll be fine.

they are more comfortable than pads--feel cleaner--if you change your tampon as often as as needed they are safe and reliable
