A five gallon would be fine for up to 6-7 guppies in my opinion. Assuming you have a decent filter of course.
Decorate however you wish, what you think looks good, the guppies aren't picky and don't really have any special requirements except a few places to hide.
Personally, I like a black background and dark gravel for a tank of colorful fish like guppies. It seem to really make them stand out well.

A) Why is your goldfish gonna die?
B) You've had a goldfish in a 5 gallon tank? If the poor thing is having issues, that's why. Goldfish need at least 10 gallons each when they come home as youngsters from the petshop.
C) No. It's nowhere near enough for five guppies. ...And I highly recommend just getting real plants. They help clean.
I also really, really recommend you read up on your fish, first. Search guppies. Learn all about them. ...but first, try to make your goldfish buddy better. www.flippersandfins.net should be able to help.

Aww, if you are just going to let this poor thing suffer and die, why get more fish? That tank is so small, maybe big enough for one betta, or just leave it at a few guppies. Mean in my opinion, since guppies like to swim.
But honestly, you sound incredibly irresponsible so I would just throw the tank away and forget about pets. We told you for a few days how to save your goldfish, and you clearly don't want to take care of animals.

No, goldfish are troublesome and that they could take the water substitute no count number if that's no longer too drastic. you may continually placed the goldfish in a tightly sealed plastic bag with water in it for them to swim in. Lay the bag with fish ontop of the water in the tank for a pair of million/2 hour so the fish can get climatized to the water temperature. Then launch them into the tank.

The only thing you need know about is guppies reproduce very quickly.A 5 gal tank is not very big.Guppies reproduce like rabbits.Consider getting a bigger tank.Just a thought.Fake plants,a few rocks and a couple of small buildings or such would be ideal.
