Rainbow sharks aren't usually trouble makers for fish similar in size or larger than they are so angels would be a good tank mate for them. One of the main things to remember is to only keep one rainbow shark ( or red tail for that matter) per tank. The will fight among themselves over territory and will fight with the very similar looking red tails for the same reason.

It depends on how many rainbow sharks. The Rainbow Shark should be kept in groups of either one or more than 6 and is compatible with Bala Shark, Betta (Siamese Fighting), Bosemani Rainbow, Cherry Barb, Clown Loach, Croaking Gourami, Dwarf Neon Rainbow, Flying Fox, GloFish, Iridescent Shark, Kissing Gourami, Kribensis, Otto Catfish, Pearl Gourami, Pleco (Common), Rosy Barb, Siamese Algae Eater, Sparkling Gourami, Three Spot Gourami, Tiger Barb, Tin Foil Barb, Zebra Danio They should either be kept singly or in schools of 6 to keep aggression down amongst themselves. Your betta will be fine. Don't forget, they get up to 5" so you'd have to have room for 6 or more sharks if you go past keeping him singly.

I currently own a Rainbow Shark in a tank with Harlequin Rasboras and an Opaline Gourami. While Rainbow Sharks are territorial they mostly display aggression towards other Rainbow Sharks and fish similar to Rainbow Sharks.
Do not keep them with other fish of similar shape or color like Bala Sharks, Red Tail Sharks and some types of Loaches. They are also very active and will stress out more timid fish like Dwarf Gouramis. They may also stress out Angelfish.
Good tank mates are schooling fish like Danios, Barbs and some Rasboras. Other good tank mates are tougher fish who will hold their own against a display of aggression. These would be some of the tougher Gouramis, like Opaline, Blue and Gold Gouramis.

They're supposed to be a bit aggressive, but mine's never harassed my tetras (neons and black phantoms) beyond the occasional short-lived chase. No big deal. The pleco seems to get along fine with it, as well. I'd have no problems putting it in with angel fish.
It's not a compatibility thing, but my shark just loves the cave I got for it. It needs some kind of cover, be it a cave, driftwood, rocks or whatever.

As long as they are the sole sharks and the other tankmates are of similar size, anything is fine. The Rainbow sharks are not agressive at all, and even a angelfish will do well with it.
Most other tankmates are not harrassed, but it is not recommended to mix these fish with very timid or fancy-finned tankmates. They need plenty of swimming room and mix well with tankmates.

Sorry..no angelfish. The shark stresses the angels out.

I think you should avoid bottom dwelling fish.Rainbow sharks are territorial and may be aggressive in defending its territory. If your tank is big enough, you can have more than 1.I would recommend you keep middle dwelling fish.Angels should be ok.Why not consider other semi-aggressive species, like Tiger Barbs?
