I'm in my 20's and have been called an "old soul". I'm also not into clubbing, drinking or partying. I like more simplistic and deeper things I guess. I'm teased about it at times, but just wondering what others think of "old souls"

in our family, occasionally a baby will come along and we will all recognize an old soul as the baby grows. to us an "old soul" does not mean someone who acts old, or doesn't like to be silly and carefree and enjoy life appropriate for their age, but instead someone who has knowledge of what this life is all about.It shines from every babie's eyes when they are new here on this earth, but some special people are able to hold onto that as they age. Surely, you have met people who have that unique aura of true kindness around them?

No. I'm an old soul accourding to the standards you mentioned. I never had any interest in any of the things you mentioned nor can I figure out what the allure of those things are. I have fallen for another "old soul" and that is one of the reasons I fell for her. I gets old constantly having to explain that you don't want to drink or party or go to night clubs. It is nice to be with a like minded angel. I am sure there are other weird guys like me just waiting to find you. Best of luck to you. I know two old souls will be praying for you (-:

I'm 22 and have been called an old soul too. There's nothing wrong with it - I'd rather be a person who is more into stimulating conversation than drinking all night (like some of my friends do) anyway.

I never heard that expression used in that way. I thought an "old soul" was someone who had lived many lives before. I much prefer the latter usage. : ) To answer your question, no, I don't think it's a bad thing.

i hope not- i've been called that since i was about 12...esp. my college department head who was in awe that i had friends my own age...
being an old soul could be a sign of maturity (i hope?!?!?)..but i like it!
