in our family, occasionally a baby will come along and we will all recognize an old soul as the baby grows. to us an "old soul" does not mean someone who acts old, or doesn't like to be silly and carefree and enjoy life appropriate for their age, but instead someone who has knowledge of what this life is all about. It shines from every babie's eyes when they are new here on this earth, but some special people are able to hold onto that as they age. Surely, you have met people who have that unique aura of true kindness around them?

No. I'm an old soul accourding to the standards you mentioned. I never had any interest in any of the things you mentioned nor can I figure out what the allure of those things are. I have fallen for another "old soul" and that is one of the reasons I fell for her. I gets old constantly having to explain that you don't want to drink or party or go to night clubs. It is nice to be with a like minded angel. I am sure there are other weird guys like me just waiting to find you. Best of luck to you. I know two old souls will be praying for you (-:

I am giving you the description of a old soul
"Much that can be said about an Old soul is what would be said about an old person. Usually old people have traveled to many places and done many things. They are a storehouse of wisdom and understanding because of this range of experience. But in spite of their competence they do not usually accomplish very much. Because of the age of the body, there is often a tiredness about them that prevents much expenditure of effort. They are quieter than younger people, have a more relaxed lifestyle, and are more subdued in their manner of expression. They have mellowed out considerably compared to their younger days. The energy and excitement of youth is mostly gone. It is very similar with Old souls. They have access through the subconscious to a great wealth of experience. Often they become teachers to pass this knowledge and wisdom on, but to a limited number of students — there is little desire or effort to release their understanding into the world in general. In fact, in the last Levels, some Old souls can be so world-weary that they are ready to just lay down and die. Like a person in the last decade of life, the Old soul is "winding down" so to speak, or "in retirement", preparing for death, settling the estate, and tying up loose ends. In terms of the theory of reincarnation, the Old soul is clearing the way for the final break with the physical plan"
The positive points of old soul is knowledge, wisdom if your feel like an old soul yourself follow the positive thing of soul and try to shed the negative things of old soul since your are quite young and full of energy. I will also advise you to visit the site for more detailed insight on the subject.

I'm 22 and have been called an old soul too. There's nothing wrong with it - I'd rather be a person who is more into stimulating conversation than drinking all night (like some of my friends do) anyway.

Well, I'm a real old soul at 50 plus and I like to think that with the name comes the distinction of being mature, wise and in control. Where it like a badge, be proud you've joined "our" club.

I never heard that expression used in that way. I thought an "old soul" was someone who had lived many lives before. I much prefer the latter usage. : ) To answer your question, no, I don't think it's a bad thing.
