That just goes to show the ignorance of the general American population. I think anyone who votes for "American Idol" (except if they voted for Sanjia) should not be allowed to vote in a presidential election.

I really don't know, but if it is true, I agree, how sad.
Makes me wonder if we couldn't have elections on line or on TV, or even on 888, 900 or some other numbers rather than having to go to the polls. Maybe more people would vote if they could vote from home. Just a thought, but one that needs to be considered..

well yes but you have to consider that you can vote in American Idol as many times as you want. A single person can vote 200 times and when they say 74 million votes were cast you have to factor in how many times each person voted

Number of reasons. You can vote as a young teen, you can vote often, it means nothing for you either way who wins, it wont make any difference to the economy, security, saftey of the nation. So, really it is like playing house. Fun, but unimportant and you have nothing to lose.

Well...It might get more VOTES! But think about it...alot of the voters are under 18 and they can vote NUMEROUS times...its not the number of people its the number of votes!

Very sad parents let kids watch that garbage. They all think it could be them. How bout a show on hard work...think teens today would watch...nope
