Abortion is NOT illegal in the USA. It's just a problem with religious groups who feel that it's killing a baby.

These people do not assume responsibility for the unwanted child but believe you should be forced to have it no matter what. It's an ongoing religious debate and the ones against it feel they have the right to determine what pregnant people should do by instilling fear and guilt and offering words and prayers but not cash to raise that kid to adulthood.

Some forms of it are illegal in the US or in other places in the world, but over all most types are legal to preform as a valid doctor (you can't perform one on yourself or a friend) in controlled circumstances.

The debate is long and bitter, but boils down to:

Legalize it: Woman's choice, sometimes can save mother's life, baby is not a person till it is alive, not all of us believe in god/a soul and as such you shouldn't force your beliefs on others

Illegalize it:Every life is precious, being life-saving is too rare to be a valid reason, a baby is a person at conception, God is real if you believe in him or not so you have to follow his rules

I'm sure this is going to get a lot of thumbs down, but I tried to be fair to both sides.

After the supreme court ruled in Roe vs. Wade, the case to make abortion legal in the US, abortion is legal.
In all states, it is legal to have an abortion if your 18. Many states even make it legal for minors to have an abortion.

So the answer is yes. It is legal to have an abortion.

Yes it is legal, we live in a civillized day and age where people are free to make their own decisions and not have others meddling in their lives and telling them what they should and shouldnt do with their body.

Late term abortion is, but personally I think it should all be outlawed. Life in all forms is sacred.
