It is a normal reaction to get chills when hearing a good singer -- I just got them listening to Jordin singing her victory song on American Idol

Whitney had an amazing voice; I still remember when I first heard her. Very few people have that range and power combined.

I see your comments, and the "crack" point was why I said she "HAD" an amazing voice. The song was written and originally performed by Dolly Parton, whose version is very good, but its tone is sweet versus the power of Whitney's.

Tina Turner is more popular world-wide, but in the US Whitney is more famous/infamous. Tina is also old enough to be Whitney's mother, and her voice isn't what it once was; but even in her prime, she didn't have the range of Whitney or Mariah. But hers is a soulful voice that conveys emotion that the more technically gifted singers often lack.

It is difficult to say which of those two would win a singing competition, especially if they were both in their prime. Whitney wins on pure pipes; but again, Tina has soul and can move around and work the audience -- Whitney has always seemed so stiff, despite her bests efforts. Having never seen or heard you perform, I really can't say how well you'd do against those two pros, but since you're confident enough to put yourself with them, I can only imagine that you must be better... therefore, I pick you to win! LOL!
