Ok, to my understanding you need an egg and a sperm to get pregnant. If a sperm is present but theres no egg you cannot get pregnant. It's impossible. I ovulate in the middle of my cycle every time. I have a 34 day cycle so i ovulate on day 17. So if i have intercourse on the day i stop bleeding and the day after theres no way i can get pregnant, right? Because there's no egg present and by the time i ovulate the sperm would've been dead a long time ago since they live for only 5-7 days. Also I was using a condom i was just worried that it might've leaked from the base of the condom. So i was just confused about that whole thing because you need 2 parts to get pregnant An egg and a sperm. Would be nice if someone clear this up for me

You are 100% correct, there is only a short period of time when you can actually get pregnant. Half of these answers are going to say you can get pregnant anytime, and alot of bull. This is false you cannot get pregnant anytime. If you have any other questions make an appointment with your gyno, and have him give you facts, because on here you will get all sorts of false answers. Someone will tell you it happened to them, but they dont understand there cycle. But be careful.

Okay, I have to respond to the "you can get pregnant anytime." What that phrase is referring to is that you can ovulate at almost any point during your cycle. It is not uncommon for there to be an additional ovulation before or after your typical one, it just sort of depends on how the follicles of the ovaries are responding to the hormones.
You cannot get pregnant without an ovum present, you are correct there, but you can never assume that you did not ovulate more than once in your cycle. That is the point of "you can get pregnant anytime."
My suggestion is this, if you ever have a contraception malfunction (I am very familiar with the condom failure myself...even with perfect use, condoms can fail...I've had 2 go on me and those weeks afterwards were hellacious) and can take the morning after pill (I cannot) take advantage of it. It is better safe than sorry.

There is no telling if you will always ovulate at the same time everytime. Sperm and semen present in your body can make you ovulate sooner, because sexual activities and secretions increase hormones and get the reproductive organs working. And once in a while, you can let down more than one egg. Your body is meant to reproduce, so it will try hard to reproduce.
( You used a condom though and its not so easy to get pregnant with one. I think you can probably consider yourself NOT pregnant. If you see symtoms of prenancy, you can get a pregnancy test (they are at longs). You'd probably have to wait till you missed a period though. )

i got pregnant with my daughter one day after quitting my period just because you ovalated on the 17th that just released the egg then.but you could have released more than one egg.it doesnt always get released at the same time as the other one.it isnt common it only happens acassionally.but it can happen.it is always best to be safe if you dont want a baby.you could aways have an egg hooked to the lining of the fallopian tubes.causing an eptopic pregnancy.they say you can be most fertile right before right after and during your period.

You can get pregnant at any time, even when you're on your period. Sperm can live for a few days inside of you before they die as well. Any time you have unprotected sex, you have a chance of getting pregnant.

If you are having unprotected sex...there is a high chance of pregnancy no matter what day you do it. Simple enough, doesn't need an explanation.
