I think you need to talk to your physician or a trusted person (like a therapist, clergy person, parent, etc) and ask them to help you get help.
If you want to read more, I suggest that you read up on OCD, or Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder - a disorder that causes people to do things repetitively, repeatedly, and compulsively.
It is a very common disorder, and can be easily treated by therapy and medication.
Good luck!

That's classic OCD. I can't say what the obsession is from reading your question, but its obvious that the compulsion is checking. If you can't control it on your own (which is usual since a very common train of thought is "just to be safe I might as well do it") consider consulting a psychologist.

I sing out loud. If you hear random humming/singing/noises what say you its probably me I put all my pencils and pens and highlighters etc pointing in one direction mainly the right in my pencil case. So none of them are out of order. I like to count when i'm bored. Its not as much an OCD thing as it is a thing I just happen to do. Like in the car when there are a lot of trees. As we're passing by its "one two three...." or when there are those lines on the road I take my hand and go over them in the air as if i'm touching them but i'm not really. See you're not so weird anymore are you? :D

Sweetheart, it sounds like you may have OCD.
You should consult a doctor about this behavior. You can control it with the help of medications and behavior modification.
What is Obsessive-Compulsive?
OCD is a neurological disorder defined by recurrent, unwelcome thoughts
(obsessions) and repetitive behaviors (compulsions) that OCD sufferers feel
driven to perform. People with OCD know their obsessions and compulsions are
irrational or excessive, yet they have little or no control over them.

I do that every now and then but not all that often.
it sounds like OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and it's considerably common, aer you unable to relax until these things are checked to your level of satisfaction? does it disturb you and the routines you'd prefer to have when you aren't sure?
though they aren't necessarily "normal" it doesn't by ANY means you're insane or weird.
good luck with everything, maybe see a counsler?

I have a habbit like that. What I do is I just stare at the thing (for example, the off tv) and then say (outloud works best but you can think it if people are around) "ok, the tv is OFF" and then I wont forget. I know this sounds realy stupid ( i dont do it when people are around) but it works for me!
