The woman is Jewish and was an orphan in Berlin during WWII. I have gotten quite a bit of information about her, and her story is fascinating. How can I get in touch with publishers and what do I do to get them to publish this book? I have been a writer and editor since 1979, and I've written many articles and a national award-winning radio ad, so I do know how to write. I thought I'd never write again and I don't have many, if any, samples anymore. But I truly think her story is worth reading.

Get hold of the latest Writers Digest Magazine they always publish a list of publishing and publications looking for manuscripts. The second other thing you can do is buy a copy of the Writers Marketplace which is to me the bible of all Writers Marketplaces. Last if you would like a copy of my publishers list which I have recently updated just email and I'll forward the list to you. Good luck

Regardless of how long you say you've been a writer and an editor, without a way to verify your publishing credits, you would look for a publisher the way any other unpublished writer would...query first.

Of course, you need to have a competed manuscript and a detailed synopsis ready to submit.

I am curious why you thought you would never write again. And if you were a writer and/or editor, why don't you have any contacts??

If you've been a writer and editor since 1979, you would know how to go about finding a publisher.

Buy a copy of the book, The Writer's Market. It lists contact information for Literary Agents and Publishers.

Pick up a copy of the Writer's Market and select from the long list of publishing houses, or literary agents, the best choice that fits your story.

Then follow in detail their submission guidelines. I am surprised you didn't know of this reference book since you claim to be a writer.

Ideally, submitting a manuscript by e-mail is the easiest and most quickest, but many publishers and agencies require submissions via the USPS.

Good luck.

Get to New York!

...or just call some people who are there...

Another cool thing is independent publishing.

If the story is as good as you say it is, people will pick it up from there.
