That really sucks! I know, after I don't dance for like a week, I feel so lazy and unflexible. I'm 13 too and I know its hard to gain weight during competition season. Just keep healthy though, don't go on any crash diets and focus on getting back into shape.
My suggestion is to cut out all your sweets (chocolate, chips, icecream etc.) have small portions of meals. Like for breakfast have a yoghourt, lunch have a small fruit bowl and for dinner have a small chicken casear salad for protein and vegetables. I bet you look perfect at your weight right now, but I say that even if you are slim eating healthy is always the way to go.
And if you want to burn extra calories make sure you get a good night's rest (you burn 60 calories an hour sleeping), go for a jog or walk for an hour (burns 270 calories) or go shopping to hang out and relax with your friends ( 210 calories burn per hour).
Have a great dance season! Good luck at competitions!!!

I'm glad you're not willing to starve yourself! I'm not sure there's a healthy way to lose 10 lbs in a week, though. And be careful, because fast diets like you're looking for can sneakily lead to patterns of eating disorders over time.
Do you like the school nurse or health teacher enough to ask for guidance? They are health and nutrition experts and hopefully could give you the best advice on safe and effective weight loss! Also, remember that you will lose some of the weight once you're active again.
I recommend the book French Women Don't Get Fat by Mirielle Guilano--link below.
Good luck.

If there was an easyish and effective way to lose that much weight that quickly, everyone would know about it. The diet industry would have made a killing by now. I'm pretty sure it can't be done, because that quick a pace can mess up your body pretty badly (especially because you're young and there's some research that it can screw with your hormones).
Look, just eat healthy (I love your last line - you have a great attitude) and exercise. Raw vegetables are good for this (if you like them...) I know it's not what you're looking for, but you are already active. After two weeks of being sick, I'd worry more about getting my stamina back, because the fat will go away from all the work you will be doing. You won't lose ten pounds in a week that way, but it will go away pretty quickly.
Also, one last thing about laxatives. If you use them, do what guitargirl reccommended: use one dose. I know a girl who abused them and she really messed up her digestive tract.

I've heard it somewhere that if you put on some weight relatively fast, then the time it takes to lose the extra weight is not much shorter than it took to put it on. In my experience, it seems to be correct - no matter how hard I tried, I ended up reaching the goal according to this prediction. Setting realistic goals might be better. That means you'll still have to put all the effort you were going to put in originally, it will just save you some frustration and disapointment.
Yeah, like people said, cut out all the sweets for 2 weeks, use less salt. Don't eat late in the evening, like later than 8 pm no food should go into your mouth, only water if necessary. Your normal exersise routine will take you there naturally.

It's so refreshing to find someone who isn't bordering on an eating disorder!! =)
Unfortunately, you can't lose 10 lbs. in a week. Up to 2 pounds a week is healthy; any more than that can be dangerous, especially at your age. Just eat healthily, do your regular exercise, and it will all come off. =)

10 lbs is alot of weight to lose in a week. And it is not healthy for you. As a serious dancer I would highly suggest you not worry about the number, just focus on getting back in shape.

Cut out sodas and drink mostly water instead. Eat cereal or oatmeal for breakfast, not the sugary kinds and use skim milk. Cut out meats if you can and concentrate on eating fruits, vegetables, beans, etc. for lunch and dinner.
Try to get back into dance class and on your days off do some aerobic-type workouts. Just be sure you take in enough calories for how many you are working off!
Don't over do it.

pick up a 5 or 10 pound weight at the gym and visualize that weight coming off holding the weight in your hands helps bring home just how heavy even 5 pounds of extra fat can be

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

Try not to eat salt, it retains water. Also try taking 1-2 teaspoons of vinegar twice a day. Of course watch what you eat and all the common "diet" things. You can also take one laxative to make sure your bowels are cleaned out. With the combo of all these things, it should help a little. Good Luck.
