Might it have been a little difficult since Saddam hated Al Qaeda & Al Qaeda hated Saddam?

He might've hated them but he hated the US more. He sponsored any type of terrorism against western civilization.

As they say, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. That explains why there were so many Al Qaeda training camps found there when we attacked. Also the number 2 Al Qaeda leader was in Iraq before we went in. He's dead now, but he was there the whole time.

So, yes, it was and would've been an even worse terrorist state had we left him in power.

Don't forget, it was Clinton & the dems who wanted him taken out. I'm glad we did and I'm glad he's gone.

ASE that is the biggest load of crap I have ever seen in my life.

There is not one link between an Iraqi citizen or government agent ever attacking the US or its foreign interests outside of the two wars between Iraq and the USA.

Saddam was a member of the Ba'ath party. The Ba'ath party is a secular Arab institution started in Syria. Syria and Iraq, fell out many years ago. But, both always saw fundamentalist Islam as a threat to a great Arab society.

That explains why there always were Christians in both governments. If Iraq was in kahootz with Al-qaeda, Christians would not have been allowed in positions of power.

Remember Tariq Aziz - the Iraqi Vice President/head of foreign affairs. HE WAS AN ASSYRIAN CHRISTIAN - one of the first Christian Civilizations. Why would the Sunni extremist organization let a Saddam Hussein use a Christian for the mouthpiece of the resistence?

STUDY UP SOMETIME PEOPLE!!!

Like most dictators Saddam loved his power and would not have shared that with any group. It is well documented that there was absolutely no link between Saddam and Al Qaeda. Terrorists are now in Iraq because the Bush war has drawn them into Iraq. Bush created the problem, has never had any plan to deal with the problem, and has continually used the threat of terrorists to manipulate and control the political climate in the US. Have we finally realized this?

All Muslims are in fact the same - in fact they are individually just cells in a single, giant communal organism that is driven only by a telepathicly shared desire to destroy freedom, liberty and the American Way (tm)!!! It feeds on terror and those who argue with the present administration's totally necessary and completely sensible actions in Iraq cause it to grow in power and monstrousness!!! Soon its' long seperated cells will join to form the great dreaded beast Islamatar and then there will be no stopping it from devouring the entire solar system!!!

Oh no... wait... that's completely stupid.

Actually Saddam was a secular dictator who would never have allowed a group of religious extremists to gain a foothold on power in his kingdom. The only evidence of him supporting anything close to terrorism was that he donated some money to the families of Palestinians who had either been killed (some of whom were purportedly suicide bombers) in the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

In fact up until Kuwait paid for substantial PR campaigns to demonise Saddam to the US TV audience, he was an American ally for exactly this reason - he opposed religious extremism.

Al Quaeda is a Muslim organization. Saddam would have supported them and allowed them to train as long as they promised him to destroy "The Great Satan", meaning us. Besides, there is never a binding hate with Muslims. They will all band together if they perceive that Islam is threatened in any manner.
