Its difficult to truly explain and it has been different for me each time.
The beginning was crampiness, then my uterus began tiring and tightening. (Imagine doing like a million situps...) Lower backache, and finally it was almost a burning squeeze with the strongest of contractions.
To explain actual delivery? Well... Imagine the first time you ever had intercourse x10. It's like having a painful bowel movement out the wrong place but amplified 10 fold. You truly cannot grasp the pain of it all until you actually go through it... but it's almost like once you are there and actually doing it- you know it's going to happen, and so I always felt a little motivated, like "OK.... HERE WE GO"
I think it's silly when people try to say "it's not so bad" because if they really felt that way they either haven't had a kid or they somehow had some miraculously painless easy birth.
It does hurt, but it IS worth it :-)
Best of luck!

It's not as bad once its over...yes it hurts but they can give you something to take the edge off or you can get an epidural to keep from feeling the contractions. I've had 2 boys and if you get induced it doesn't hurt near as bad as natural b/c I had both natural and induced. Make sure you have a good doctor and hospital to go to. But labor pains feel like peroid cramps gone wrong. It will be ok though.

Basically, the beginning of labor feels like a tightening of your abdomen accompanied by intense menstrual cramps, aka "contractions". Each contraction lasts for varying lengths of time and is usually anywhere between 3 to 6 minutes apart. The absolute best thing to do when your labor begins is to try as best you can to relax and enjoy the miracle that is about to occur! Good luck :)

I am a mother of two. With my first my water broke, so that was a given. With my second I woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and couldn't get back to sleep, all of the sudden I started to get cramps (contractions) and they were just like menstural cramps but consistent. After about an hour I called my midwife. Sure enough and hour later I was 8cm and my son was born 40 min. later.

You will just know, it's an instinct. Good Luck!

Some crappy solutions on right here... FROM MEN of everyone. I'm seeking to come to a decision if I'm in labour correct now. I have cramping like pains that come each and every 15-ish mins and feature been for the beyond hour or so. But I was once my mothers first and he or she mentioned she "wiped" and had a smear of blood, so she ran a bathtub and obtained my dad to name the clinic. They mentioned, run a bathtub (lol which she simply knew to do) and that labour pains must come quickly and when they time five-7 mins aside to return into the clinic. So whilst she concept she was once equipped, she went to the clinic and I was once born eight hours later. With my sister, she was once in labour for four hours earlier than she was once born. The unhealthy factor approximately that was once her frame did not have time to stretch so she tore rather badly. I'm hoping my L&D is that rapid! lol. With my Aunt (she simply had a little one this beyond october) she was once eating at Earls for an early dinner and he or she felt like she had to pass to the toilet, so she obtained up and simply as she was once remaining the stall door her water broke. She concept she peed herself so she bent down and wiped clean all of it up lol. Then she went to the clinic and approximately 10 hours later my cousin was once born. So I bet with my household we dont' keep in labour too lengthy haha. Will this well fortune be handed directly to me? We'll see. Congrats at the little one! One extra week till the enormous countdown :D (It is going through quicker than what folks say it does) I nonetheless think like I must be 32 weeks pregnant however now I've 12 days till my due date. Crazy!

I've had three children, I'm not going to sugar coat it but it's worth going through to see that beautiful baby. I started to go into labor and my water would not break all at once so I felt like I had to urinate every moment or so. I had pains in my lower back. I had two children natural and my last I had an epidural. Wonderful drug!!!!!!!
But it is different for everyone, try to take care of yourself, exercise lightly and walk as much as possible. Try not to worry, nature will take its course. Best Wishes and relax.

i had my son without meds because i knew that if they made me all drowsy my baby would be feeling something as well.

it was no walk in the park, but i don't think that babies should have to deal with that stuff if not necessary...to me it feels like the worst cramps i've ever had, times 50, with a severe case of backache. it was hard to not push after a while, because you get so tired...it was really hard to not be loud, but i had to keep it cool...my paisas may find out i was chickening out...and i was not about to face that...plus there was this other girl next to me that was screaming for both of us...then the doc that was helping both of us came into my room and said, thank god you are not like her...so there went my chance if i had thought about it...

When you go in to labor you may fell many things. Lower back pain, have to pee, and being tired. You will feel a pressure to your lower abdomen, You might not feel like eating. But you most likely might feel busy. Walking around, doing stuff. You tummy feels like it is tightening (squeezing), if you feel leaking, go right away to the doctor or hospital. I remember feeling very agitated and moody right before. And washing dishes. And feeling Pressure around my bladder area. You'll do okay. :)

Everyone will tell you differently. For me, it felt like some giant had his huge hands around my middle, and was trying to squeeze REALLY hard. Different stages have different pain levels though. If you keep in mind that there IS an end in sight, you will get through it easier than if you think in the moment, and imagine it's never going to end.

Mmmpf, it's so cramped in here! Gotta stretch. Hey, don't push! I see a light down there. I'm falling toward the light. I need a breath of air. Ouch! Who's grabbing my head? Mmmpf. Oof. Ouch! Ouch! Quit smacking my butt. OK, you asked for it, now I'm gonna cry. Waaah!

Or did you mean from the mother's point of view?
