The title says it all! I've always gone for the dark, smoky eye and a pale lip color, but just today I tried red lipstick, and it looks horrific (perhaps the wrong red -- it's a blood red. YIKES!). So which one do you like better? Thnx.

i've been wearing dark eyes and pale lips for years. i'm trying out the red lips and light eyes. but i havent found the right shade of red yet so as soon as i find that, i'll definitely wear the red lipstick. i like both.

Depends on your mood.
You can wear red lipstick and mascara and powder with jeans and a shirt, with nice shoes and a nice bag.
Or you could wear the smoky eye and pale lip when you dress up.
I find that the smokey eye is better for dressing up.
Red lipstick is a perennial classic.
Blood red is hard to wear, perhaps you should try a different shade?
I like both.
I wear liquid liner with nude lips.
Sometimes I wear blush and red lips.
Depends on my mood.

Pale lips tend to look dead, so better to have the dark eyes and maybe some lipbalm/gloss.
In terms of the red lipstick, you may want to look for something sheerer in colour instead. I'm still scared by red myself! A sheer red gloss would probably work out, tho.

I like smokey eyes with pale lips better. I do not like red lipstick because it makes me look weird too. If you have some olive in your skin, red lipstick is not necessarily the right shade for you. I would use light pink or nude shades.

The two looks you are describing are day and night makeup.
Dark eyes and neutral color lipstick is an eve type of fit. While the More natural eye makeup with the darker shade of lipstick is best suited for daytime.
Red lipsticks are tricky, you have to take into consideration your skin tone in order to find the best red that suits you.

I like dark eyes with pale lips.
I think the look is sophisticated, even if it isn't super natural or anything. Red lipstick is just too much, reminds me too much of a fake barbie doll or something. By highlighting your eyes with darker, it makes them pop more, and drawing less attention to your lips.

My personal opinion is that the smokey eyes-nude lips look for an evening out is veyr sophisticated n makes a woman look vyer glamorous n yes very much hottt n sexy.......whereas the red lipstick look for the evening also looks good on women who know the right shade n can carry it off......but somehow in today's trend it just looks tht the woman is not with the latest trend....somehting kinda retro look.....

Dark eyes with pale lips look very sexy and interesting if done well and of course with the right hair and skin.
