You can't really change your genetics. Try a wall-sit. After you sit there for 30 seconds you'll relize that it works the Quads and Glutes, not the knees or calves. If your overweight the only way to lower your body fat is through diet, light total body wieght training and cardio. There's no magic formula. Also you can do calf raises to tone the calves to an extent. Good Luck

It's probably just your hormones affecting you but if the itching becomes painful with a burning sensation can be a sign of a liver problem called intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy but this usually only occurs in the third trimester. So for now if the itching gets the better of you try putting some cold milk on the area its great for relieving the itch. Take care and don't scratch too hard don't want the baby having scratch marks :)

Oh had that too! Any lotion or cream will help or mention it to the midwife she will advise you what to do, maybe an anti-histamine cream. Itching of the legs can be due to circulation changes in pregnancy. Try and put your legs up as much as possible, don't cross them and try not to stand in one position for too long. If it is circulation then doing simple foot stretches is great, even just wiggling you toes when your relaxing will help your circulation. Just one of the many pleasures that happen in pregnancy I'm afraid, hope this annoying thing gets bettter. Good luck with the baby and take care!!

I had the same thing with both of my pregnancies. I find that if i keep my skin moistursed it helps. Many people experience dry skin when pregnant. E45 cream and cocoa butter help a lot.

i was very itchy throughout both of my pregnancies. uncontrollable, it would keep me up at night. i tried everything you can do while being prego. i had to go to a dermatoligist and have a skin graph.i had what is call P.U.P.P.S i forget what it stands for, but in lamens terms it means your body is more or less allergic to the pregnancy and the only way to get rid of it completely is to have the baby.i would talk to your doctor and see if there is any RX hydrocortizone cream they can give you. you can also check on www.webmd.com and your search would be P.U.P.P.S hope this helps.

Hi, you are not the only one that suffered from this i suffer from eczema from time to time ,but when i was pregnant with my daughter it did flare up pretty bad more then usual . i also tried aqueous cream but it was as much use as a chocolate teapot. i went to the doctor and she prescribed me a strong moisturizer called diprobase. well this cream worked within the week of putting it on twice a day i still use it now to prevent it from coming back take my advise the cream works wonders.

Use Vitamin E on the outside. Then check with your doctor about using oils on the inside. Your body needs more healthy fatty foods like fish (fish oil), nuts, and oats. This will help restore the balance in your own physiology. See the link below for other useful ideas.

If you experience severe itching which occurs on your arms, legs and feet as well as on your body, consult your doctor. It could be a symptom of a rare liver disease called obstetric cholestasis. Other symptoms of the disease may include loss of appetite and generally feeling unwell.
Left untreated the disease may cause preterm birth or (more rarely) stillbirth. If obstetric cholestasis is diagnosed, you will be given drugs to control the condition. You and your baby will be closely watched, and your doctor will probably recommend that your baby is delivered early.

Ask your midwife for advice on this. Its probably nowt, but then itchiness can be a sign of more complicated things.
Dont take an antihistamine without advice...they should be avoided in pregnnacy. I have heyfever....BADLY...am am not allowed to take it til bubba is here!
Good luck xxxxxxx
