The probable reason for low self-esteem is that you think others are smarter than you...I am giving an advice to you might not really mean that I have higher self esteem...It's always easy said.
But I would suggest, everyday think about one good thing you did, one good job you did...that will rise your self esteem. Stop comparing yourself with others and enjoy every moment of life.
Whenever you feel you are dejected, just think about somebody you love, your mom/dad, and think about how much you mean to them...you probably have better loving people than most others.
And if you feel you didn't do something properly, don't worry, nobody did...and start forgiving yourself for mistakes.
As already said, it's always easy advising, but the simple thing I can suggest is start loving yourself...If you don't, nobody will

You need to get into activities that make you super confident, bordering on cocky. Getting fit, improving your education, etc. Your low self esteem will be obliterated in the process.

You are probably depressed. I have found that the door to depression is self pity. The best cure is to do good things for others without expecting compensation and you will feel better in no time. Look around you and see what people need and whether you can help.

You need to attend a yoga class and destress. With allowing yoga in your life you are able to see patterns of emotion that develop within and the power you have over your mind to deal and get rid of negative patterns of behavior and negative thinking. You will release stress doing the poses and you will learn to train your mind so your thoughts are positive which will reflect in changed behavior. You will learn to release negative thinking. We have to train our minds just like we train our bodies. Your thoughts are very powerful and create energy. What you think is what you get. You will learn to train you mind to release the negative and focus on all your positive attributes. After thinking positive for a while you'll see your actions and behavior follow suit. You can change to being a positive, happy, and productive individual if you incorporate yoga in your life. Go to a few classes with an open mind and best of luck.

Wow, I just typed in that question on another site. I feel the same way. I don't have the answer, but I feel a little better knowing that others out there feel this way too.

You tell yourself that your beautiful and make sure you don't care what anyone thinks about you. Other people opinions are meaningless to you what you think is number 1 and everyone else doesn't matter.
