Wow. Whoever thinks Peyton is near the greatest hasn't watched football long. I am only 17 and I know that there are active players that are perhaps better. Not to mention the many amazing quarterbacks that have graced the league. To list some i think that are better than Manning, Montana, Elway, Brady, Farve, Aikman, and Bradshaw. All those guys were amazing and very cool under pressure.
Of course, it is way to soon to condemn Manning yet, he still has a while to play and he just got over his nerves in the playoffs. However, I strongly feel he will have a tough time making his name associated with the greats I have listed above.
I very tired of hearing how great he is though... Manning is such a duffus. At least Brady is decent looking and sharp in his presentation.

No way even close at this point. Peyton has the reputation of being a "choker". This may not be totally deserved, but right now he has not performed well in post-season. Peyton is not even close to being the QB John Elway was for example. Here was a man who played his best in the clutch, instead of finding ways to lose and then blaming your O-Line for the loss. Peyton is an excellent thrower who is very immobile. You can't argue with his stats, and he is no doubt one of the best playing right now. But who would you like running your team if you are 14 points behind the the fourth quarter, Peyton or Tom Brady?

Well....crunching the numbers, he's having the best career ever up to this point. He's certainly going to be among the top handfull by the time he calls it quits. He's on pace to be the all time leader in yards, TDs, and rating right? There's proof enough as to how good he really is. One Super Bowl, yeah...More talent around him? Yeah perhaps, but maybe they're good because HE is good, never think of that? Any idiot can catch a football and run with it, maybe that's all Harrison and Wayne can do? I really don't think that, but it's true. Any QB behind an offensive line like that could have that kind of performance, true, but Mannings ability to change plays to best suit the offense against the defensive set makes him quite a threat behind center. Despite the talent around him, he might just go down as the best ever, but I agree, anointing him right now is still premature, especially what Green Bay's own Iron Man is still playing for his 17th year.

does any one else think he looks like a horse? i guess it is the perfect team for him.
i agree 100 % is a good? yes. the greatest? hell no. i can name atleast 5 other QBs better then him ( maybe not now but i mean all time.)
Example
Favre
Marino
Elway
Montana
Young.
and i could go on but im too lazy. yes he is a good QB yes he will probably be in the HOF. but i am sick of this bull **** how he is the greatest ever when in reality he is not. Give Favre or Elway those WRs they would have thrown for well over 49 yards in a season. they were that much better. instead they were given mediocer recivers ( look what happend to freeman when he left green bay) and still had GREAT careers. i think Manning is SLIGHTLY overrated not saying he is not good. but you also have too look at the talent he has around him.

Manning is not even the best QB to wear the Colts uniform. Yes, he's great because he came to a team that only won 3 games when he came to the league and he built this powerful offense, so he deserves much of the credit.
I'm sorry for those Indy fans that think Manning is better than Unitas.
Even Manning doesn't compare himself with Johnny U., remember Manning wanted to wear black cleats as a tribute after Unitas passed away. He also wears the number #18 because #19 was retired.
And please, don't say that Unitas didn't win a Super Bowl because he was past of his prime when it was created. He would have won a couple of them in his prime.

I'm tired of it. He should've come to Miami, Oakland or The Browns offense and see what he could've done. He could've have done anything. They were just lucky to play a couple of weak teams, and barely beat the Pats, it was all luck. Marino is way better, and he worked with an offense that was never there. He had nothing to work with, but he broke all sorts of records anyways. Peyton can just retire for all I care, I don't like the guy, and is just another Tom Brady to me. Yea, some talent, when you actually have more of a running game than anything. They almost lost to Miami come on, 22-29...hmm, Miami stayed with them, how sad.

Manning is good, no dought, but he is no Marino. So what, he had Harrison his whole career. Do it with different WR like Marino and Elway did it. Steve Young was the highest rated QB and is better because he could run with the ball and get away by scrambling, something Manning is terrible at. Overall I would give it to Elway as the best ever as he could do plenty more than Manning, and I am not even a Bronco fan.

Yes I'm sick of hearing "Peyton Manning is the best" "He's the best quarterback ever" I'm sick of hearing that bulls**t. Other quarterbacks like John Elway and Joe Montana are better then him because the don't brag about being the best quarterbacks. So he's the MVP of Super Bowl XLI a lot of football players have been the MVP of the Super Bowl.

ok just a quick FYI to all those football fans out there
super bowl rings do not tell the tales of greatness of quarterbacks their character on the field and skill do any idiot can lob a pass in the air caught by an outstanding receiver who hates his idiot of a quarterback yet catches his sh*tty passes anyways also a good running corps could carry any dumb qb to a super bowl ring
and i do agree that peyton manning is good, but not the BEST!! on super bowl XLI he played rex grossman, whos a joke for a super bowl qb
also, hes got marvin harrison, one of the best receivers still wearing cleats today he can catch pretty much any pass by almost any qb
