yeah that is true.. i don't even know who was against Chris Daughtry in his American Idol show but I know he's really good. Fantasia winning was a joke. She sings like she's got something stuck in her throat..

Best voice may win American Idol, but best looking will sell records nowadays. A classic video killed the radio star. Television is geared for you to stay WATCHING, and if someone is hot and can sing they have the world in their hands.
Just listen to Simon Cowell, he can spot a million dollar contract within two seconds on an audition. Sad but true

Because most of the winners have gone into genres of music that aren't as mainstream as pop and rock. Kelly went pop, Carrie went Country-those are two very widespread areas of music. Perfect example is Ruben and Clay- Ruben went into gospel- sure, great music but definitely not something your average viewer of AI will listen to. Clay went into pop- definitely something the average AI viewer will listen to.

I know sometimes that happens but sometimes the don't. Like Kelly Clarkson is still popular, but then Katharine Mcphee is more popular teh Tayolor Hicks.
