The "Tea Party" is not a national organization. It is an amalgam of local "Tea Party" movements. They are not that closely coordinated, though. Some of them are genuinely concerned about big spending practices, either Democrat or Republican. Others are merely Republican set-ups to try to get the rest of the Tea Party protesters back into the Republican fold.
