It's bleached. The chemicals end up in our system,obviously. Try to find raw sugar in the store.

Sugar from sugarcane become white when the stuff that isn't sugar is removed IE bark, leaves, other fiber. It is then crystallized and that aligns all of the molecules together. The rest of it just gets removed to the dump or goes down the drain!
