Yes..definitely for a salt tank. You should add live sand as well for the substrate.
Word to the wise: there is a Hawaiian live rock that can carry bristleworm in it. Some bristleworms actually come out at night and kill your fish. And no..I'm not kidding :)
Fiji rock seems to be a safer choice or any live rock that's been cultured at an aquatic store ::)

I like using it. It gives additional surface area for bacteria which help remove toxic ammonia and nitrite, plus you can build it up into caves and ledges which give the fish natural hiding places. Plus, you get cool organisms like sponges, shrimp, macroalgae, and others, so it makes your tank look more like a natural habitat.
