Knights are not royality right? What if any is the proper protocal? Is it just old fashion to dip down on to one knee with ones head bowed? The Queen of England has knighted some of teh most interesting men these days.

I think the proper ettiqutte is a slight curtsey. True Knights are not royalty and the OBE, Which Huge Laurie just received, is a technical knight in the Order of the British Empire. They can be addressed as Sir but it is a formality that they can decline if they want to (usually by saying, "please call me..."). OBE is usually reserved for culturally significant British citizens but has been extended or offered to a few Americans in the past.

Of course not! You only curtsey to royalty, anyone with an HRH in front of their name or the Queen herself. Knights are very insignificant, as titles go.

What are you talking about?
Knights are so far down the pecking order that would be like bowing to a checkout girl.

Brian C - the OBE does not confer a knighthood. OBEs are as common as air miles.

Knights can be royalty. I don't think you need to dip to greet one. That's when you meet the queen. Are you planning to hang out with knights?

You don't bow or curtsey to Knights, the only thing is when adressing them you precede their first name by "Sir".

E.g Alan Sugar is "Sir Alan"
