I say the prayer written in the bible, because it is unselfish and it is what God tells us to say. I know that the Bible doesn't have everything (all of the writings) because of it being destroyed by whites a long time ago, but I just wanted to know why is it that the churches I've gone to are EXTREMELY selfish in what they say and GOD is an UNSELFISH God. At least the God I worship. I don't classify myself as Christian because I try to follow the teachings of all Biblical books inspired by GOD (mostly all are same anyway). Just wanted to know why people say "MY GOD" instead of "OUR GOD" or "Bless Everyone" not "Bless me or My family" Even songs sung in churches have words like "ME" "MY" "I" Biblical books like the Bible don't teach selfishness. So aren't those people that say "ME, MY, I" hypocrites.

Let me make this more clear, All I'm saying is why do people do this because we are suppose to be together as one people. I've never in my life pray for myself, I pray for everyone in need. I'm far from perfect, and I don't know who is going to heaven or hell, only God can determine that, I can't. I try my best and I hope everyone else do as well, just wanted to know why. JUST AN INNOCENT QUESTION, NOT ACCUSING ANYONE OF ANYTHING. :)

The Lord's Prayer isn't something God gave us to tell us exactly what words to say- He was teaching us HOW to pray. Yes, a lot of people are selfish in their prayers, but at the same time, God WANTS us to take all of our cares to him. We do need to remember to be more thankful, though, and I believe as God reveals himself to each of us more and more, we start to learn how to pray for others as well. You have to remember- not everyone is going to have the same strengths as you do. We all have different flaws, and God will convict us of our sins and guide us to repentance in His own time. It's not for us to decide what areas of someone's life God should be working on at any given time. I don't believe God expects us to be working on every flaw in our lives all at once. But it's definitely ok to remind fellow Christians of things we can work on. I think people in general respond better when confronted with a tone closer to that of fellowship, accountability, and concern, rather than a judgmental "I do this, and you don't" tone.

Yeah.
Don't know what church you go to.
I've been to multiple churches, aren't like that.
Go to a Cathlic Church. They read the Lord's Prayer. Read the bible Sing. Get a blessing. Pray personally. Read. Some other stuff. Other stuff. Done!
I love Catholic church better.
Christian is more like.
Sing for at least 3 hours. Talk for 1 hour. Sing for 5 more hours. Talk for 9 hours. Sleep. :|
I ask "Why sing SO MUCH?" And they say "The bible says to sing times. So lets just multiply that by 1000 and sing more!"
Off topic but.
Grr. Yes.

I am a Christian beecause I am born to christian parents and baptised and brought up as Christian. It was not my choice, I inherited it. Mostly it is the same case with every religion. I believe in a supernatural power who control the universe and its day to day operations, heaven and hell, if they exist. I mean, the systematic scientific arrangement of day and night, rain and shine, heat and cold, life and death, etc. According to scientists, the earth is revolving but not wearing out, probably due to automatic greasing of the ball joints. Mr Al Gore is silent about that.
There are number religions they all silently follow ten commandments in their teachings. These commandments shape people to be good citizens. All we want is good citizens so that people love each other and live in harmony.
In ancient days there were no script and no paper. Bible was not a written record. Some smart philosopher wrote it when scripts were invented and media like leaves or paper were available. Other smart philosophers re-wrote the contents to fit for different religions. It is unknown which religious book is the first one to be published.
Ancient days, again, most people were uneducated. The smart philosophers and Kings wanted to keep the folks unified and used religious media to exploit them. They blindly believed what was taught to them.
Modern world, we know that religious teachings are selfish.
They teach that you can reach heaven after death if you believe and obey particular religion. All those who do not believe and obey particular religion is going to hell. It is race against each religion. Everybody rape the name of good Lord for their own selfish benefit.
There are number of highways from different directions to the Empire State building. You can take any highway to reach the goal - Empire State Building. All religions are different highways if Empire State Building is God. Only they take different path to reach God.
Think about this! The good Lord did not create anybody to be punished and pushed to hell because that person happen to be born in a different religious family. If God had pre-dtermined you to be born in a religious family who is excluded from the heaven that God is biased. God left you to use your own will to live in the world. You need to be selfish to compete and develope new ideas to help everybody's life better.
Mr God is not a toy of any religion. The religious leaders cannot promise paradise in heaven in the name of God. They cannot manage God's affairs. They can only profess. Religion is a good social organisation. It can be abused also during power struggle. Some religious leaders control huge wealth and dictate like mafia. I had to be brief. Thanks

You're by no means too younger to place your religion in Jesus Christ. Even to the sons and daughters, He mentioned, "allow them to come to me and do not avert them..." 15 is without doubt historical sufficient to grasp that you are a sinner and that you wish to have a savior. Islam is a faith of salvation by way of works and has no savior. They do not feel that Jesus used to be rather the son of God and that he rose from the lifeless. These are the 2 primary Christian ideals and salvation will depend on us believing them. There is solely no wrong way for sinners to be forgiven. This is how God deliberate it to be ever on the grounds that Adam and Eve first sinned. Islam got here alongside six hundred or so years after the primary Christians began spreading the gospel (well information of Jesus Christ), while a self-proclaimed prophet Muhammad claimed to acquire new revelation involving God's means of handling guy, which significantly contradicted the Bible and (by way of that point) the good-headquartered Christian religion. Muhammad used to be one of the crucial fake prophets that the scriptures warned might come: "The Spirit evidently says that during latter days, a few will fall clear of the religion and comply with misleading spirits and doctrines taught by way of demons." (one million Timothy four:one million) "There will probably be fake lecturers amongst you, giving heed to harmful heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord that purchased them (paid for his or her sins)" (second Peter two:one million). Encourage and pray on your buddy. She might want it. Yours in Christ, Nick

I think for some people the saying of "me, my or I" just expresses the connection the personal relationship with God. For me the "our" is implied but in when speaking to HIM I say "I" to make it personal. Everyone's relationship with HIM is at different levels so some people like me need different words. That doesn't mean they are selfish, just doing what works for them.
