There is nothing GWB wants more, than for the Democrats to cut the funds for the war in Iraq!
To that effect, the republicans and their friends in the corporate media, have developed a subtle promotional campaign.
The things they say are many, the intended effect is to shame the democrats and to have the antiwar movement push the democrats to cut the funds for the war.
Also, they pretend that if the democrats don't cut the war funds, they are loosing to Bush.
All that is bull.
If that were to happened, all of the sudden, Bush will play the victim. the worrior who had those bad democratic polititians denied money for the troops.
"The Democrats lost the war."
"The Democrats support Al Queda"
"The Democrats support Bin Ladden"
Besides, the democrats are not in a position to negotiate a piece agreement with the parties in Iraq. They are not in a position to call the UN, the europeans and the middle eastern countries to the table, to find a negotiated solution for Iraq.

Democrats, don't fall for that Republican trick. Wait until you are in a position to negotiate a political settlement in Iraq.
In order to bring the UN, the Europeans, the middle eastern countries and the Iraqi factions to the table you need to occupy the white House. Only a President can convene such a peace conference and have the backing of the whole American people.

I agree. He will lose his kicking dogs but the Dem's I think are calling his bluff. If the wars continues to go badly or God forbid worse the dems can say "see America we were right and no more chances for Bush" The impeachment proceeding will be broad and sweeping. They're getting their artillery ready now.

My feelings about the economic spending in Iraq are simple. The Generals and Lieutenants know and understand the situation better than a desk riding democrat and republican in the senate. Whatever they want, the White house should give them. Men with experience will know the correct way to handle the situation better than men without.

The only way to end this way that was begun with an admittedly stupid and flimsily excuse/lie is to give them what they are asking for so it will all be over as quickly as possible. The bickering over money in the senate is causing a delay in us getting our guys out of Iraq, while men argue in cushy chairs, Others die because they run out of bullets.

Shane T said it best. I totally agree with his position.

Bush doesn't need excuses to cover himself on the war in Iraq. He's got plenty of facts.

It is kinda funny the things politics brings about.

The Dems win in '06 on the promise to end the War...

...but, they can't end the War because that might hand thier opponents some political ammunition to use against them. /And, that's more important to them than thier mandate from the voters/.
