Spurs fan please explain this excellent defense to me.

well im not a spurs fan but i think bowen is kind of dirty. and it is his "dirtiness" that gets into players' heads. its not just ray allen complaining but vince carter and amare stoudemire too. so its not an accident or a coincidence that so many players are complaining.

Bruce Bowen is a damn good defender, otherwise he wouldn't be named to the All Defensive Team almost every year. Coach Mike K. got him to the US Men's Team pool because of his defensive skills. What you're trying to show us is one of those isolated cases where a good defender gets away with some cheap shot. But this is all part of the game and more of an instinct on the part of the defender. It's funny because Bowen has been around in the league for quite some time now but I don't remember people calling him dirty in the past. I don't recall him being involved in some on-court fighting or scuffle or being suspended for flagrant fouls or too much T's. He's rather calm and quiet, unlike Ron Artest. Some players in the past, particularly Dennis Rodman, had complained that John Stockton almost always stuck his sharp elbows and used his knees when setting a pick, but we didn't call him dirty. Players do have some tricks up their sleeves, ready to be used to their advantage when necessary. But as I've said it's all part of the game.

Not a dirty player. You step on the floor, you run the risk of getting hurt. These guys are acting like soccer players - laying down or wanting to fight rather than getting up, shaking it off and earning their millions.
