And travel whenever they please was granted unless they were imprisonned.

I think you have a teacher who has got things all cracked up. Constantine favored Christians in public offices. No one could be a senator unless the person was born into a senatorial family or was made so by the emperor. Every one in the Roman Empire traveled where (s)he wanted.

Some say that Constantine was a Christian, and that he was only baptized on his death bed, because people did that in those days to wash away their sins at the last minute. Other people say that he liked Christians and favored them in the same way that rich U.S. businessmen today emply Mormons to run their affairs, because they know that Mormons are honest people who do not use alcohol, tobacco, or drugs.

Christians of the time liked to think that Constantine was one of them. They used him and he used him to convoke the Council of Nicea to decide which books of the Bible were authentic and what believers should recite. "We believe in one God...," Others since do not know.
