25% of American Muslims believe its ok to bomb innocent civilians - open borders still ok?

Question

Now I realize the Senate Republicans and Democrats have no trouble with open borders; but many people do. In light of today's survey that suggested American Muslims believe that targeting civilians with homicide bombs (suicide bombers) is acceptable I have to ask...Is it time we closed our border to the Muslim Race? Before we lose our own?

Not sure why so many think the source or numbers are off. Its reported on Reuters and on Yahoo News today. Someone provided a link below.

This is not about illegal immigration. It is about questioning the legal or illegal immigration of Muslim people into this nation. 26% of those 18-30 years old believe its ok to attack civilians with suicide bombers to defend Islam. I can't believe how anyone would want to bring more people (1 out of 4) to our country with these beliefs. Don't you guys read the newspapers, watch TV and see what is going on in Israel. Is that what is wanted here?

Let's assume for a moment that your sources for that poll are legitimate. (If you can provide a link to that, I'd surely appreciate it.)

If 25% of American Muslims believe that it's OK to bomb innocent civilians, shouldn't we be more worried about those 25% as opposed to the borders? I'm not being crass, I just don't understand the logic.

The border issues is, has always been, and will forever be about Mexicans, period. Those folks have been propagandized ever since they were conquered and driven from what used to be their land. Unless we're willing to pay $20 a pound for produce, $1000 a night a mediocre hotel for one night, $100 for a meal for two at a one star restaurant, just so those businesses could afford to pay citizens living wages and benefits to perform those jobs and stay competitive, what's the alternative? Sorry, I digress...the border.

Let's not forget the only other significant terrorist attack on our soil besides 9/11 and the first WTC bombing was committed by a red-blooded, Caucasian American male; a 2 mile-high fence couldn't have prevented that.

I do believe that our borders need to be secure but not as a response to polls. It's just the right thing to do. And as soon as we can stop spending $2B a WEEK in Iraq, A couple months worth of war costs could easily pay for a secure and effective fence from CA to Texas and we can put the border issue to rest. And then perhaps we can start thinking about how we can afford lettuce....at $5 a head.

Update: Internationalsnubber is right on. Also, I just finished reading the cited article and coming from an analyst, that's a real loose interpretation and overly simplified generalization of that report.

I find it hard to believe percentile. You can make a survey say what ever you want it too by the way the questions are asked, by the way the data is entered. And most importantly, who entered the data. The media uses polls to highlight whatever story the are working on. To highlight this, look at presidential opinion polls. But to your question. One way to solve this would be an UNITED STATES ID CARD. You can make them hacker and pretty much fraud proof (holographic images, DNA makers, finger printing). If you don't have one, well you go to holding tank for deportation. In almost all of the countries that I have been in their is a national id system. Here we rely on the state's to do this individually for their resident's. Look at the members of the 9/11 squad. If there would have been a national system with Interpol, FBI, and homeland security, well maybe these clowns would have been stopped in time. We can not close the borders though. For 260 something years, America has been the land of opportunity. If you are hard working and want a better life, well we want you here. To be a productive member of our society. Not some radical with a twisted sense of jihad. Read article below and you tell me what you think.

The Muslims didn't come from the Mexican border. They came here legally from the Middle East like the 9/11 bombers did. We should barred immigration from the Middle East. I'm not pro-illegal imigration but your comparison is illogical. I think we would stop more Muslims coming here if we restrict immigration from any Arab countries.

America is great because of the diversity it offers. You should not close the borders to those that are looking for a land of oppurtunity, but a proper checking of the person's background should be mandatory.

America should never turn away those who want to be a part of our culture, the logic to do otherwise was what caused my Irish ancestors to be beat to death in New York many years ago.
