Eliminate the power of the emperor and prevent the capitalist regime of the democrats so that people will be empowered to occupy the political aspect of the Chinese society.

I just took a course on this. It's mainly because the Nationalist Party (Guomindang) that was in control of China at the time opposes the CCP's idea. Communism is completely against capitalism and takes the idea that one day capitalism will be completely overthrown creating utopia (a perfect world). So the CCP thinks by overthrowing capitalism they are doing good for China.

first of all, don't read wikipedia, that site is written by OCD patients, they have nothing else better to do but to force other people to accept whatever they write on there.
basically, CCP was about to eliminated by the Chinese nationalist party, so they had no choice but to fight the civil war, it is a matter of survival.
