People seem to forget that Texas gave A-Rod that contract and not the Yankees. The Yankees are simply honoring it.
As for the most over paid 3rd baseman I would have to say Scot Rolen amking 12,000,000 a year the same as Pujols is insane.
Rolen is hitting .233 with 2 hr's this year.

Overpaid third baseman? You mean like Mike Lowell who will do his second half fade like last season? That's who you mean right? I know you don't mean A-Rod who is costing the Yankees about $16 million (Texas is paying the rest). Manny is making $20, so maybe you mean him too.
Also, by overpaid you aren't referring to the very average Dice-K are you?
The Boston fans must be bored since they are losing and taking their frustration out on the Yankees. Relax, you still have the lead, besides it isn't always necessary to win the division, the Red Sox didn't in '04.

Rodriguez is in the seventh year of a 10 year $252 million contract that he originally signed with Texas.
He's not overpaid from the Yankee's perspective. The Rangers are still footing roughly 35% of his salary. From Steinbrenner's point of view, Jeter and Giambi cost more than Rodriguez.

A-Rod is the best player in baseball, with Albert Pujols and Barry Bonds in the mix. If anything, Jeter is overpaid.
