Reality and perception are connected but not the same or inseparable. A percection is one's conception of what they assume to be reality. Reality exists regardless of any persons' perceptions. So the answer is I think no. But that is just one persons' perception. In reality I may be wrong!

The idea that perception=reality is extremely true in a sense. It all has to do with meaning. Meaning is assigned to certain things because of a person's perspective. For example, in America patting someone on the head is an acceptable, if not eccentric in some cases, show of affection. Try that in Thailand? You'd be in some serious trouble, as its far worse than the finger is over here. Far worse. From this example you can understand how different meanings could be attached to different things (not just actions, but words, images and even emotions, philosophies, and notions of right and wrong), and so that one's perception controls and alters and is their reality. Which is why its good to be open to other perspectives. =) Thats just my take on the phrase though.

In my opinion Actual Reality or Actuality is in your universe and you can be more conscious, aware and have Perception of this, than the Perception of Reality in a physical universe. Both Perception and Reality contain Perceptions that are put in them which you contact and become aware of, and you can have greater or lesser awareness of either at any given time. This is so because it is the spiritual life unit that creates any universe in the first place.

You and reality is one. Therefore, your consciousness of being and your perception of anything is part of your reality. In effect you are absolutely right!!! They are inseparable.

The mere fact that I agree with you at the moment is a reality of what I perceive of you as being and I am absolutely conscious of my being and that is what is real at this particular moment. On the other hand, if we perceive things to be what it should be, and not what it is, is proof that we are conscious of things as it is and what it should be. What is, is reality, and whether it is what you perceive it to be or not, doesn't matter because what it is is reality and is part of your perception of things to be.

If our body and our soul are inseparable, does that mean our body is our soul itself? The answer is no. Our body houses our soul as well as our organs.

Similarly, reality houses perception as well as the physical world, and is not perception by itself.

For the actor, perception of reality IS reality, but for outsiders, reality may be different which is why impartial observers are so valuable at times.

perception (objective reality) is separate from the true reality. the nature of true reality will never be remotely understood however.

maybe we are in the matrix, maybe you guys dont really exist because i am just having a really long dream right now.

reality is such a difficult topic, but ultimately, we will never know what reality is, it isn't possible for us to know

This is more easily understandable if one considers the actual scale of the components of an atom. If one takes into account the fact that the neutrons, protons and electrons of an atom actually have huge spaces between them it becomes clear that the atoms that make up seemingly solid objects are made up of 99+ percent empty space.

This alone does not seem too important till you add the idea that the atoms that make up seemingly solid objects are more of a loose conglomeration that share a similar attraction but never really touch each other.

At first glance this does not really seem relevant, but closer analysis reveals that this adds a tremendous amount of empty space to solid objects that are already made up of atoms that are 99 percent space. When so-called solid objects are seen in this light it becomes apparent that they can in no way be the seemingly solid objects they appear to be.

We ourselves are not exceptions to this phenomenon.

These seemingly solid objects are more like ghostly images that we interpret as solid objects based on our perceptual conclusions.

From this we must conclude that Perception is some sort of a trick that helps us to take these ghostly images and turn them into a world we can associate and interact with. This clever device seems to be a creation of our intellect that enables us to interact with each other in what appears to be a three dimensional reality.

I hope that helps to answered your question.

Love and blessings Don

Yes, reality is purely subjective. Reality can be thought of as the sum total of all people's personal realities.

without the perception of space and measurement of time in that space, neither perception nor reality could be known.
