They are both grammatically correct.

"It is often tiring to interview people." -- this is more colloquially acceptable.

"Often it is tiring to interview people." -- this seems a bit archaic, and is simply not as used as the other.

.....Both are acceptable, but the second probably occurs more often in common usage. In neither case will the grammar police won't show up.

However, I believe "Often it is tiring..." is the best choice for a strict grammarian. In that sentence the adverb "Often" is in position to modify the entire expression, describing the frequency of the situation as "often."

In the other sentence, the adverb often is used to modify the adjective "tiring," which is a somewhat awkward way to express the thought.

Unfortunately, common usage is not a measure of correctness. For example, almost everyone, even TV announcers, say, "It wasn't a good day for my partner and I," instead of the correct form, "It wasn't a good day for my partner and me." And so it goes.

Both can be correct but the second way you put it sounds better.

the second one....unless you add a comma after often on the first sentence..."often, ...."
