How can i let him know how i feel about him with owt either getting a kick in the nuts or freaking him owt if he turns owt to be straight? its hard to tell

Just drop little hints. That way he could maybe drop hints back to give you alittle "heads up" on what to do next. But proceed w/caution.

Temporary Sadness is right. You do NOT want to tell him, "I'm gay and I want to jump your bones, howzaboutit?" Much better would be, "I'm gay, and I notice (a lot/some) of the guys in your airline host classes are really cute. I *know* it's a stereotype, but do you happen to know if any of them are gay?" If that doesn't lead him to not only answer the question but declare his own team, then he's either too dumb or too closeted to be worth your trouble.
Of course, this assumes that you already know him at least slightly. If not, make friends first before you try for boyfriends; you may find out you can't stand his personality!
Given the career he's training for, chances are slim to none that you're the first guy that he ever found out was gay. So the kick in the nutz, while not impossible, is vanishingly unlikely, as is freaking him out. (He may be surprised, which is a different point. You may not register on his gaydar. So if he is gay and is attracted to you, he would also be delighted.)
After you find out his orientation, take the next step--or none, as appropriate.

Ask him "coffee, tea, or my big penis up your pusshole?" Seriously, Just ask him. If he is in that industry he is most likely used to being around gay people and open-minded people. At the very least he will be flattered

Well I'm not that good at this but what i would do is get become close friends with that guy then he'll tell you what you want to know

tell him ur gay and see how he reacts. if he's okay w/ it he probably wont be offended if u like him. if he's str8 im sure he'd still be flattered
