I have a real problem with the choice of answers listed. 1, 2 and 3 are types of energy that can be produced in multiple ways. Number 4 refers to a source of energy, not a particular type. Solar energy as recieved by the earth is a mixture of the other 3 and is captured and used as one of the 3.

Direct current can be produced from solar energy.Solar cells are also called photovoltaic cells. Solar cells convert the light into direct current electricity, which is the same kind of electricity you would find in a standard battery. Once the energy is converted to electricity, it can be stored in a battery or sent through an inverter which changes the electricity to alternating current, the type of electricity that powers everyday electric items.
