I bought some beautiful copper torches and can't seem to get them to stay lit. I have tried priming the wicks (which are dry)but they stay lit for only a few minutes and go out again.

I pulled the wicks out at varying lengths from 1/2 to up to 2 or 3 inches thinking more exposure would help, but the wicks just burned out. Torches are about 3/4 full or more. I think i'll have to try new wicks. Maybe they were defective.

YOU MAY HAVE WATER IN YOUR FUEL...TRY NEW FUEL AND MAKE SURE THE WICKS ARE SATURATED BEFORE LIGHTING...BEST OF LUCK!

Sounds like all is OK with what you've done so far. If the wicks are not wet with water, try pulling wicks out through the top and twist to constrict the wick giving it a bit more breathing room through the wick opening. Leave the wick exposed about 1 inch and try lighting again and it should draw better.

Sounds like you are using the wrong fuel, the wicks have too little surface exposed, the fuel level it too low, or the wicks are defective, unlikely on the last one though.
