I am twenty and my father is pressuring me to sign a will that makes him the person in charge. While all the money goes to my siblings, I don't feel comfortable giving him all the power. However my parents are divorced and I don't want either of them to be in charge. Is anyone else in a similar situation?

Who you make executor is your business only. Usually one chooses somebody that will hopefully outlive them and usually name an alternative or backup in case the unforeseen happens. So the biggest thing here is you standing up to your father and letting him know your decision. You cn always tell him you have one already and dont wish to name the executor.

If you don't want your father to be in charge then dont.. there is nothing that says he must be in charge should something happen to you..

I used to work at a legal firm that did wills and i saw many people put down their grandparents or siblings or even close friends as the executor of their will.

Its your will so its up to you..

Why would he "pressure" you for executorship of your estate? That doesn't sound right to me. Name a sibling first. Even a close friend but not someone who really wants it bad. In the right circumstances, that might lead to unfortunate events.

makes him in charge of what? your estate? let one of your brothers or sisters be the executor, odds are that your parents will go to the great beyond before any of you do.....
