I wouldn't. I want to help someone get to where they are going but I don't want to take the chance of them stealing my car or worse!!!

I´ve thought about picking up a stranger a couple times..but chickened out. I have picked up someone I knew who was hitchhiking´..even though I was actually going in the opposite direction..I took him home then went on my way.

Maybe. There are alot of reasons people hitchhike. Some people hitchhike because they really do need help getting somewhere. I guess it just depends on my gut feeling.

I'm hard pressed to say. I've seen and heard so many horror stories about that kind of thing. I would be more likely to make sure my car was full so I had a proper excuse not to.

I have picked up many a hitchhiker in my time, but I don't see them as often as you used too.

Probably not, but if for some reason my gut felt OK about it, they'd still have to ride in the bed of my truck. No way I'd let them sit in the cab with me.

Never. My mom was soooo strict about them. Where I live, there wasn't many, at all. I mean, maybe like two. But when we passed them, we had to duck down and hide from them. She would scream, "LOCK THE DOORS!" too. Hmm... now that I think of it, I'm scared of those guys.

Now, no I would not. Have I in the past, yes. It was a very unusual experience & my friend ended up trying to date the guy. He would have been hot if he had his front teeth.
I'm kidding about the hot part, sugar. *wink*

When I was a kid (late 70's), people did this all the time with little hesitation... in this day and age, I would never even consider it..
