There were never WMDs. The public bought it and than found out later that it was a lie.
People defended the war by saying. "What do you think Saddam was a good man." We did a great service to the world." Or some loose non existent connection to 9/11.
Maybe he was harboring terrorist lets roll. No need to war with other nations harboring terrorist but we will talk a lot about it.
In any event We know it was all lies and there is no possible justification you can make to this war, unless you argue military strategical positioning and resources. If you argue humanitarian or other your ignorance precedes you.

Come on people are some of you still in the dark. Intelligence KNEW there was not WMDs. Do your research. The main stream media has even covered it for God sakes.

I dont think anyone really knows why the war started, we were given reasons but none add up, not a thing, The only people that know why are not talking.

Two mistakes, my friend. . .
Your first mistake is semantic. Bush may have lied, but we will never know. In order to lie, you have to know what you are saying is false. Bush had intelligence to suggest there may be WMD's in Iraq, and he had a dictator that refused to let him in and check. That evidence led him to believe Saddam was hiding something. I find it entirely plausible that Bush believed that Saddam was hiding WMD's. Therefore, it is not a lie.
Is it a faulty analysis? Probably. Are the troops just as dead and we billions in debt? Yes. But do not mischaracterize things.
Second, and more important...
"there is no possible justification you can make to this war"
Simply wrong. The terms of the treaty in Gulf War I provided for unfettered access for the purpose of weapons inspections. Once Saddam violated this, the treaty was null and void, and we had every justification to resume hostilities.
Was there a better course of action? Perhaps. But to say there was no justification is an incorrect statement.

It is true that we went into Iraq on false intelligence, even the liberal congressmen running for president were deceived, everyone believed Saddam had WMDs back then (even though he didn't) and we had to trust our intelligence agencies so we invaded Iraq. Personally I would have supported invading Iraq over its human rights violations alone but that is not why we went.
Now we are in Iraq to stabalize the country we tore apart and create a bacon of democracy in the Middle East. Any educated person knows that we couldn't leave Iraq now even if we wanted to, we are already too far into the conflict and we have to stay the course so that the Middle East and Iraq aren't left in shambles.

Hillary Clinton said there WERE WMD's from her own research. She must be in the same boat as the second greatest President our country has ever known, George W. Bush

It doesn't bother me that we went to war on what turned out to be bad information. Feces occurs.
My only problem with the whole Iraq thing is that we didn't do the job properly. Meaning that we did not allow our Military to do what it is designed to do: break things and kill people. It is called projection of power and a valid tool when diplomacy, as it always does, fails.
