I have the same kinds of problems from not healing properly after several ankle sprains during High School football. It could be a build up of arthritis, in which taking some aspirin and icing it would help, but you may want to see a doctor to make sure it isn't anything more serious like a torn ligament or a hairline fracture. If it is a hairline fracture, it would need to be broken before it could heal properly.

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. You could have torn a ligament in your foot when you jumped into the pool, I think it would be an idea to go to your GP to get it checked out, when it swells up you could put an ice pack on it to help with the swelling, also try and keep your feet up and rest it when it does swell, hope your problem doesn't last to long.

It has everything to do with the original incident. You did some permanent dammage. To find out exactly what it is you need to get an MRI and go from there.

Does it pertain to the pool incident. Yes.
