The Red Sox got 30 wins in their first 43 games this season...just curious who has done it faster? As of right now, the best any other team has is 28 wins, while the Bosox have 31.

1984 Tigers: 26-4 in first 30 games; 30-5 at the 30-win mark; eventually reached 35-5 to reach the +30 mark.

2001 Seattle Mariners had 30 wins in their first 39 games...
Notes:
1. That was Ichiro's rookie year
2. Mariners finished with 116 wins that season (if I remember correctly)
3. The Oakland A's finished with 106 wins and got the wild card 10 games back in the division (which is unheard of with 100+ wins)
4. They had 31 wins after 40 games capping an 8 game winning streak

I'm pretty sure the 1984 Tigers were,they had a record of 34-4 I believe.
