You'll turn on your gaydar only by experience, and it will never be perfect.
As for finding other gay guys, try networking. If you have good str8 friends of either sex who know you're gay, tell them all the same thing you just told us strangers. Be aware that the guys they come up with may or may not be in your middle school.
Not-quite-irrelevant P.S.: MAN, have things changed in the last 45 years. Be grateful to the people who've made it comparatively comfortable to be young and gay in the early 21st!

well... pay close attention to others around you. not just at school. If they know you're gay, it might help your problem. If not, YOU just keep watch. But don't jump at one possible sign. Also, try and meet guys out of school in your area (not the internet please!) and well yea. In highschool there will probably be more. THe only other option which is completely fool proof is do this: go to a creative arts school. I can tell you there WILL be gay guys there. I never went to one but some of my friends did. good luck!
