Our demand has exceeded our supply. There is plenty of gas left in the world, but we don't have enough refinery space.

Well, oil is $7 a barrel cheaper now that it was this time last year. The $0.50 increase in gas prices can only mean gas companies hope to make further killings in the market. So long as the gouging is good, the good get gouging.
