It seems like our politicians do whatever they want, they're easily 'swayed' to vote for something by padded bills that offer funding for stupid little pet projects. Why do we allow this to continue? We elect people who don't represent what we as Americans want. WHY? How can we stop this?

Judge politician in the primaries by finding out WHO gives them monetary support.
Judge them by their history and how well they support and follow the Constitution.
YOU must support those that pass yourr test. and support them in the primaries.

Don't believe anything you read in the newspapers or hear on television news.
Especially don't believe bloggers!
Believe ONLY what makes sense after checking out everything.
Check it ALL out. You'll find out who of your friends you can truely believe and trust.
Example: Al Gore's global warming verses the historical FACTS regarding climate change. HE PLAYED ON YOUR FEARS!
Just check the facts, check history, and decide for yourself.
While you are at it, check out how the Eisenhower administration delta with illegal immigration. He reduced it to the LOWEST level in the history of the U.S. by going after those who hire illegals. How is our current congress dealing with it?
Isn't history great?

It's hard to know what to believe anymore the news media gives us the info and people don't do there own research on who is running they take the easy why out and listen to the news.

At first I couldn't understand why the media hated bush then after he was in office a little while I quickly found out.I thought his MBA would help the economy then he didn't do anything but make it worse. Then the voters put him in for 4 more years and this countrys gas prices are out of control funny how they weren't when clinton was in office.I like women too but your wife comes first and if she didn't give him sex and he wasn't happy he should have moved on.But I think the screwing bush has done is far worse after about 3,500 dead so far.

The reason that Politicians are always so happy is that they know that it is rare for any of them not to be reelected . While they are out campaigning, they will promise the people decent Government, honesty and blah blah blah. Once they are in office, they do as they please.Who ever heard of the Washington Mafia in our Congress giving themselves a raise in the dark of night. I want a Health care program like the ones that they have.

Your question is one that I have asked myself many times. I am coming to the conclusion that many of these people are arrogant and only want to represent themselves once in office.

We need to keep track of what they actually do and not vote them into office for the next election.

Yes they know what we want. They spend more money on polling data than anyone. But on every issue - there are 50% that want one thing and 50% that want the opposite. And lobbyists are the ones that hold the tiebreaker because they are the ones with the money. And they need lots and lots of money to get re-elected. And keep in mind - no one wants to
lose their job.
