a cemented surface is harder and denser while a soft surface is soft and less dense.

A question like that is testing your ability to reason through a question. If you asked someone and got the answer, it is not helping you anything.

Think about what happens at impact and immediately after the impact. How does soft object react with another object? What is "soft?"
