Seriously. Why is it more appealing to write "u" instead of "you"? Why can't you take two seconds to make your typing seem semi-intelligent? So you at least appear to have a IQ higher than 90...

"Typing intelligently recquires 2 ioda more effort which the majortiy would rather sacrifice to promote ignorance."

instead of this:
"bcuz that is the dumb lolz. rite man dun b gay."

THANK GOD!

People actually caught the spelling mistakes. My day's better all ready.
To those of you who caught them... congrats, you passed. Perhaps they'd have been less obvious in a different subject, but oh well. did what I had to. Now I owe my roommate five bucks. darn.

As a former editor for a newspaper, I couldn't agree more. I, myself, do not claim to be the leading authority on grammar but it has all but died in today's society thanks to the age of chat rooms, text messages and e-mails. There is nothing more ignorant looking than all the short hand that people use. To make matters worse, the shorthand is even sneaking into spoken language because I cannot count the times I've heard people say "lol" out loud or "j/k."

Anyways, that was my little rant. I agree with you 100%.

You mean is 'good 'grammar dead? It is not. It's just been shipped overseas. There are many countries where English is spoken properly. America's speech grew lazy when we lost contact with Europe in the 17th century. It has gone downhill from there. I applaud your want to change our wont.

Well you know how those teenagers are. They do that a lot when they text message so I guess they figure its okay to do it on here too. Grammar and spelling is dead. I hate reading questions that are in text messaging code.

Because it is cool to dumb down. That is what I think.

What it really means is that person is just to lazy to write correctly.

People don't even know how to answer the telephone anymore. I hate calling people and having to have their children keep me on the phone 5 minutes as they don't know how to answer the phone correctly.

Probably that'd be a better rant if you hadn't misspelled so many words, hon.

Grammar. Iota. Majority. (in case your spellcheck's broken)

I agree with you on the rest, though. This isn't "txt" or l33t" and there's no real reason to be in THAT big a hurry to hit "submit." Heck, they even make you preview your posts here . . . how hard can it be?

Don't expect good grammar on the internet anymore, its not gonna happen sadly :( Be better to ignore it then gripe about it, it just annoys the little kiddies even more

I don't know, is it? What are they teaching kids in school these days? Oh yeah, I remember, how to put on a condom. Certainly they are not teaching SPELLING and grammar.

Grammar, not grammer. This is just a start. I found 3 words at first glance spelled incorrectly.

If I get a text message from my son with that kind of gibberish .... I text him back and tell him to do it properly or ring me up.

I have no time for the use of short words or calculators in schools.

How on earth are our kids going to learn?

for someone who complains about other people's spelling, im sure you have misspelled something in your life, plus I can anwser this question If I understand the question I don't care about the spelling it not my Job if i don't understand the question I don't bother, people misspell because they simply don't think about it that much and simply don't care as much as you do because their lives are much more complicated then spelling if you cant understand someones question move on, plus yahoo anwsers is worldwide people from all over, some people have a hard time, and if your a teacher it is good to know the proper spelling but its also a responsibility to be tolerant and understanding to it when it comes to kids of all ages no one is perfect, and im sure a scholar could find typos in your question as well but i dont care enough to point it out to you. Now if you are in school or college it is your job to care about your spelling, even teachers misspell even professors do, im saying people got alot more on their mind then school work, but for certain things people need to care for example applications or homework, other then that if its not our job to care and its readable to others then its fine. unless your my professor or my boss i dont give a damn about it. if i catch a typo i will correct it. and i had caough your mistakes i just didnt care
