they stay still, in the sea some find holes to sleep in and some, like parrot fish, cover themselves in like a mucus membrane. If you go diving at night you see lots of fish sleeping and other fish and creatures which are nocturnal, sleeping by day and hunting at night.

They generally just become dormant, the colours fade and they become motionless in the water. Or larger fish may sometimes just hold on the bottom in an upright position.

They just float at a standstill. Fish do sleep, but they sleep with their eyes open. If you see them near the bottom of the tank, not moving, they're asleep...it's really quite cute.

they still move usually...... depends on the species of the fish :P most just move their fins and gills enough to still circulate oxygen
