I made a film on my digital camera, put memory card into card reader, cut & pasted onto my laptop and when I play it, there is no sound. I have done this 3 times and every time no sound. Could it be anything to do with my laptop being Windows Vista?

Can you play it with sound in the camera? If you can then the computer is using the wrong codec to play the file and missing the sound. What file type is it? .MOV needs quicktime, AVI, WMV should work in Windows media player. Real player claims to handle most formats, as does Media Player Classic. There is a codec set you can download that fixes this sort of problem.http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Codec_Pack_download.htm

Not all digital cameras record sound. What's the model of the camera?

Also, have someone else try the file to see if it has sound on their pc.
