Lately I've been devouring books by Kristin Billerbeck. I also have read a good book by Lauren Walker and Sir L....something. But thjen I also read a book by Meg Cabot (Size 14 is not Fat Either) and was shocked to find it was chock-full of profanities and other bad stuff. Of course, I'm old enough to read this stuff, but hate exposing myself to it because I am very easily influenced. I can read pretty much anything, I'm a teenager and a major book worm. I was wondering if anyone has some nice, clean, book recomendations? They don't even really have to be christian, just a good book you read or an author you like that doesn't swear -too much- in their books. I want it PG-rated. Thanks!

Yes, I do!! I too love Christian novels and devour them like crazy!!
My favorite Books are by an author named, Beverly Lewis. Most all of her books are series about the Amish and their lifestyles. They are wonderful and very hard to put down!! She never includes profanities and such and her Mom was reared in the Pa. Dutch land. so, her writtings are based on true facts pertaining to this way of life. AWESOME reading!!
Another Author...Francine Rivers... Her writings are very good as well.
I have several, please e-mail if you need more!!

If you don't mind really old-fashioned novels, you might consider Grace Livingston Hill. Many of these books are set in the early 20th century and you can tell too because the worst word in them is Darn and that's like a major curse word. A little hokey to some but wonderful to me because it reminds me of a time when manners and propriety mattered. You can usually find them at old garage sales as well as at Christian book stores. Hope that helps.

Why did you ask this question thrice? No, i'm able to't advise any; i'm no longer into Christian stuff. How are you relatively inspired? so which you're admitting which you do not have a recommendations of your person and an entire fool?consistent with possibility that's purely me, yet that would not sound like a e book malicious software. in case you may no longer preserve some cuss words (which via the way are purely words) then you've got your @ss your kicked in the real international.

Shusaku Endo, who is called the Japanese Graham Greene, writes some very moving Christian novels set in Japan. I recommend "Silence" (1969), a novel that recounts the trials of a Jesuit missionary to Japan during the Tokugawa Period.
I also recommend an early twentieth-century novel by Charles Sheldon, "In His Steps", which is also available online complete with commentary.

Have you read any of Graham Greene's novels? He has a massive body of work but four books in particular are classified as "Catholic novels." Greene drew a lot of criticism from the Catholic church about these novels because they often play on Catholic stereotypes.
Here are the four novels in question. Look into each one and see if they catch your interests.
The Heart of the Matter
The End of the Affair
The Power and the Glory
Brighton Rock
Happy reading!!!

Frank Peretti is pretty popular. The books of his that I read are more mystery/thrillers.
The "Love Comes Softly" series by Janette Oke is kind of like a Christian "Little House on the Prairie".

Hey! I am a teen, a christian, and love to read! I don't know what kind of books you prefer, but I love the Love Comes Softly series by Janette Oke, (and a lot of her other books), and I also like Lynn Austin's novels, and series that are called 'The Life of Faith.' (most of them are by the author Martha Finley). E-mail me sometime. Hope I helped!

Try the Left Behind series by LaHaye and Jenkins. There are 13 books in the series and it is quite a ride!
