they could be coming in through your drains. flush the drains with a 10% bleach solution

There could be a loose potatoe somewhere. Or a leaky can, get a hang up no pest strip. Do you have any birds as a pet? Check the seed if you do.Bye

Have you left your doors open for extended periods of time? They don't need rotten fruit or food to get inside, just a nice meal once inside ;)

I can honestly relate! Those knats are driving me nuts. I've been checking everything. Fruit, plants, potatoes! But my DH says he has noticed them alot lately just everywhere, even outside. So who the heck knows!

You either have a high humidity level in your house, have a lot of citrus smelling cleaners, or the wood in your home is sapping out or rottening.

Have any houseplants? Check your sink/garbage disposal as well. Best way to get rid of them are the sticky fly strips.

you may have a drain that the water dried up in the p-trap and sewer flies are coming into house from there, or it could be from store bought house plants.
